Some challenges children can overcome

Dough Play

Learning how to hold and use crayons, pencils and scissors can be a challenge to some 2 and 3 year olds. With more practice and trial and errors children can improve on these challenges.

Playing with dough is not only helping with motor-coordination but developing acquisition of many other concepts in numeracy and literacy, technology, language and socialization skills.

Opportunities for learning are equitable  and each child's contribution is valid (Te Whaariki Strand: Contribution, Ministry of Education 1996).
